Range Rover Darien Gap Expedition 1971
The Range Rover had only recently been launched in 1970 and this British Trans America Expedition from 1971-1972 was devised to prove the vehicle's off-road capabilities in the tradition of the Land Rover. Two Range Rovers travelled from Alaska to Cape Horn crossing the Darien Gap in Central America. This photograph therefore focuses on the expedition crew crossing the river at the Darien Gap using ladders and a dinghy
